George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park to hold Dino-Sized Easter Event
The George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park annual Easter event will take place Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The unique celebration will give children, ages 12 and under, the opportunity to hunt for more than 10,000 Easter eggs throughout the eight-acre dino-filled park. Also this year, the third annual car and bike show to benefit Northern Utah’s Autism Program. The show will feature more than 250 vehicles with music by JC Hackett.
The Dinosaur Park Easter egg hunt is the biggest hunt in the area. With more than 3,000 in attendance last year, we anticipate an increase in attendance again this year.
Eggs containing toys, candy and special prizes will be hidden for this popular local event. Two separate hunts are scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. During the hunts, there will be a special area designated for children ages two and under. Fresh Market, Toad’s Fun Zone and Sparetime Family Fun Center, who are among the event’s sponsors, will provide special prizes for the celebration.
Easter activities are included with paid admission to the park, $5 for children, $7 for adults and $6 for seniors and students. Dino Park members will receive a 50 percent discount on admission for the event.
In conjunction with the Easter event, Northern Utah’s Autism Program will hold it’s third annual car and bike show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 25 awards and 100 dash plaques will be given out at the show, which is being presented by Beehive Kustom Car Club, Great Mountain Chevy and GMC Truck Association. The car and bike show is free for the public. There will be Dinosaur Park discounts for car show participants. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Children’s Classroom Fund.
The Eccles Dinosaur Park hosts a number of festive activities throughout the year. The park features more than 100 realistic, life-sized dinosaurs based on actual fossil skeletons. The dinosaurs are brought to life through artistic details, robotics and state-of-the-art sound systems.
The park is located at 1544 East Park Boulevard. (Take I-15 exit 344, then head east five miles on 12th Streetto the mouth of Ogden Canyon and follow the signs.)
