hat happens when the brightest minds in the alternative fuel vehicle industry join with the brightest minds in the hot rod and custom industry? You end up with the single most advanced hot rod on the planet being built - that's what! The '33 Ford CNG Hot Rod dubbed 'The Gasser' is being built by WJ Daytech Automotive in Fairfield Ca. and CNG Retrofit kit manufacturer AFVTech Inc. in Phoenix AZ. using the best parts available to the automotive world.

The rod is in the build up stage and promises to be one of the most (if not the most) high tech rods on the planet!

Specs:

Just a couple of build specs for this rod are:

  1. Body and chassis by Factory Five Racing
  2. Trick paint job
  3. LS-7 (427c.i.) crate motor from GM Performance that's been torn down to the nuts and bolts and purpose built for CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) with new rings, valves and seats, and a host of other goodies.
  4. 6 speed auto trans by T.C.I. - paddle shifted
  5. Ford 9 inch rear with Strange Axles
  6. Custom 4 wheel ABS (anti lock brakes)
  7. Custom selectable Traction control
  8. HID headlight pods
  9. Electric assist steering

Commenting is now enabled. Let's hear what you have to say. I personally welcome such a high tech addition to the industry. I'm not aware or maybe I've just forgotten about anything this cool and high tech in a long time. High horsepower, high tech, zero emissions in a classic wrapper - could this be the future of rodding?
